Myrtle Yerby Truelove, age 90, died October 11, 2016, at her home. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Memory Chapel with Bro. Chad Palmer and Doug Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home with Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Harvey Yerby and Brookie Lee Malone; brother, John Edward Yerby; husband of 45 years, George Ellis Truelove; and "adopted" sister, Delilah Nuckols. Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Norris Franklin of Trenton, GA; sons, George Michael Truelove (Cherry) of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Byron Ellis Truelove (Charlotte) of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; grandchildren, Candra Driggers (John), Chris Norris (Sylvia), Lance Norris (Guy), Josh Truelove, David Truelove (Kimberly), Haleigh Petty (Shawn), Ashley Truelove; great-grandchildren, Cody Driggers, Jonathon Driggers, Rhianna Rosolowski, Hayden Jerrill and Cooper Petty. Myrtle was born January 16, 1926 at home in Tuscaloosa. She retired from University Supply Store. She was a member of East McFarland Baptist Church. She and George enjoyed trips to Florida, even into their 70's. She also had a green thumb and kept numerous plants. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends, especially on the fourth of July. Pallbearers will be Chris Norris, Lance Norris, Josh Truelove, David Truelove, Shawn Petty and John Driggers. Honorary pallbearers are members of Ladies One Sunday School Class and members of East McFarland Baptist Church and employees of Gateway Beauty Salon.
