NORTHPORT - Jesse Bryant Green, age 79, of Northport, Ala., went home to be with his Lord on November 25, 2016, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2016, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, with Rev. Bobby Holladay officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be today, November 27, 2016, from 4-6 p.m., at Memory Chapel Funeral Home.He was preceded in death by his father; Gordon Green; mother, Florence Green; brother, Thomas Green; and sister, Nolvice Green Bearden.Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Elsie C Green, daughter, Sharon Green Brown (Mark); son, Steve Green (Rachel); grandchildren, Meredith Brown, John Mark Brown, and Connor Green; brother, Billy Green; and sister, Johnnie McGee.He was known by Jesse to some and Bryant to others. He was a former employee of Gulf States Paper Corporation and retired from BF Goodrich. He was a loving and faithful husband, a wonderful father and Papa to his children and grandchildren, and a good friend to many.He had a wonderful sense of humor, remembering jokes to share on any occasion. His hope for the future was based on his relationship with Jesus, as his Lord and Savior. He enjoyed playing golf, gardening, and building shooting houses and bird houses. He always enjoyed spending time with lifelong friends. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for 54 years.Pallbearers will be Ron E. Green and Tommy Green and nephews, Adam Beams, David Todd, Tim McKinley and Sam Maples. Honorary pallbearers are David Seale, Paul Skelton, and Joe Phares, friends of 50 years; Alan Bean, members of Ted Roberts Sunday school class, Paul and Patsy Skelton's small group.In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to building fund of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Hospice of West Alabama or your favorite charity.
